He pursued his training in London, earning his M.A. in Painting from Chelsea College of Art (1977-78), followed by an M.F.A. in Painting at Syracuse University in New York (1978-80). His inaugural significant institutional display took place at the Deutsche Bank in Madrid in 1998, and he also exhibited at the Stadtgalerie Klagenfurt in Austria during 2009-2010. Simon Edmondson has been based in Madrid since 1991, where he lives and continues his artistic endeavors.

His artwork is showcased in prominent cities across the globe, and he frequently engages in prestigious art fairs including Arco, Art Chicago, Art Basel, and Art Paris. Edmondson’s painting is characterized by a figurative and expressive style, wherein forms unravel and dissolve within desolate and dilapidated settings.
